The meeting has been organised by Northumbria Police Authority and will be chaired by Councillor Tom Foster, who is a police authority member.
The meetings are the latest in a series of Police and Community Forum meetings to be held in the Northumbria Police area this year as part of the police authority’s regular consultations with the public about crime and policing.
Chair of Northumberland Police Authority Mick Henry said: “These meetings are a great way of meeting the people who Northumbria Police serve and allowing them to air their views and concerns face to face with senior Police officers. They allow us to respond in the best possible way to issues which concern local people and help make our communities safer.”
Police and Community forums are open, public meetings which let local residents ask senior local police officers about the policing of their area - and have their say on its effectiveness. Anyone can come to a forum meeting to either have their say or simply listen to what is being discussed.
The next meeting of the Gateshead Police and Community Forum will be held in the Oxberry Room at Felling Library, Gateshead on Wednesday 5 September at 7.00pm.
