Meet Northumbria Police Authority at Rothbury |
13 October 2010 |
Anyone with a question about policing in Northumberland, or who would like to find our more about the work of Northumbria Police Authority, is being urged to come along to a meeting taking place in Rothbury.
An open invitation has been sent out to residents in the Rothbury area to come along to a ‘meet Northumbria Police Authority’ event that will take place on Wednesday, 20 October at Jubilee Hall, Bridge Street, Rothbury, Northumberland, NE65 7SD, beginning at 9.45am.
At the event, local residents can meet Authority members and temporary Chief Constable Sue Sim and her Command Team. There will also be two presentations. The first will be given by Chief Superintendent Mark Dennett, the senior police officer in Northumberland, who will talk about crime in rural communities. The second will be by Gary Connor, from Northumbria Probation Trust, who will talk about the work taking place to reduce reoffending in Northumberland, which is a key priority for the community.
There will also be a session where local residents can ask questions about crime and policing issues. Questions can be submitted in advance by emailing enquiries.npa@gateshead.gov.uk or by calling 0191 433 2098.
Councillor Mick Henry, Chair of Northumbria Police Authority, said: “Please come along on Wednesday, 20 October and find out more about the work of Northumbria Police Authority. There’ll be presentations about local policing issues, an opportunity for you to meet Authority members and the temporary Chief Constable and her command team; plus you can ask questions.”
