Consulting with the public is one of the police authority's
major duties.
We
believe that to provide you with the kind of police service
you need then we need to know what you think of local policing.
That's why we hold regular public meetings - called Police
and Community Forums - throughout the Northumbria Police
area.
Police
and Community forums are open, public meetings which give
local residents the chance to ask senior local police officers
about the policing of their area - and have their say on
its effectiveness. Anyone can come to a forum meeting -
these are public meetings so there is no formal membership,
and you can either have your say or simply listen to what
is being discussed.
Police
and Community Forum meetings also help police officers to
identify and deal with local problems more effectively.
You'll be helping to form a partnership between the community
and the police - and it's a partnership that really works.
